Speak: 21 Days of Praying the Psalms

When we don’t know what to pray or how to pray it, we can learn from the faithful ones who came before us.

God still speaks. He speaks through His creation. He speaks through His people. He speaks through His Word, and He speaks through prayer; but, so often, we don’t know how to be still enough to hear His voice and we are at a loss for what to say!

If you were to place your finger into the very center of your Bible, you would find yourself in the book of Psalms. “Psalm” comes from the Greek word for “song” and it was basically the hymnal of ancient Israel!  It is filled with the rich prayers of people who loved God, and yet struggled with their own seasons of injustice, pain, depression, fear, brokenness, illness, and strife. Speak will help you dive into their words and expand your vocabulary, to give you a more honest and intimate conversation with the LORD God each day.

Do this study on your own, with a friend, in your small group, or as a congregational emphasis during a time of fasting & prayer! May the prayers of those who have come before us help us speak to God, and may they help us listen as God speaks to us.

2. Remember, this devotional is just for your personal use. Like music, it is copyrighted; so, if others want to dive in with you, just send them here to purchase their own (or buy another copy, bind it, and surprise them with it!)
3. The document is designed to be printed front and back (to save paper AND to utilize the side-by-side layout for easy study).  If you stick it in a 3-prong folder or 3-ring binder, it will work perfectly for a daily layout… or, drop by your local office supply store and they can bind it for you for a very inexpensive fee! (These options are pictured.)
